Gayl Hardeman, Founder
RPR, RMR, RDR, CRR, CCP, FAPR, FPR
Gayl Hardeman received her B.A. from the University of South Florida
in Tampa, FL, teaching high-school English for two years while
studying to become a court reporter. In 1976 she joined Independent
Reporting Service, becoming partner and expanding the firm from
three to ten reporters in two years.
Gayl formed a court reporting and notereading school
in 1977 and authored "GHK Notereading: 12 Weeks to a
Career" in 1978.
President of the Florida Court Reporters Association in 1980,
she earned the Frank Sarli Distinguished Service Award for
her efforts in
Gayl began her CART career in Boston in 1992, working
with ALDA, SHHH (HLAA), and the Massachusetts Commission
for the Deaf and
Hard of Hearing. For her efforts in training court reporters
for CART, she earned the Jane Griffin Distinguished Service
Award from the Massachusetts Court Reporters Association.
Gayl joined AmeriCaption in 1995 and formed HRI
in 1998, offering freelance realtime
reporting services, software and realtime training,
and remote CART.
