Upon graduation from MacCormac College, in Chicago, IL, Kathy Bentley
obtained her Illinois CSR in July 1977. She worked at McCorkle Court
Reporters from 1977 to 1982, covering all aspects of reporting including
meetings, depositions, and trial work.
In August 1982, Kathy began working in Tampa’s
Federal Court, reporting for magistrates, visiting, retired-status
judges. From July 1984 until August 2009, Kathy worked for
Dreyer & Associates
Court Reporters in Tampa, and wrote her first realtime job
on September 11, 2001. In August 2009 she aligned herself with
HRI and helped
to report 100 realtime depositions in a chemical contamination
case. In January 2010, she began her venture into CART, where
she has finally
found her calling.
Kathy passed all three legs of the RPR in one sitting,
passed the CCP in 2011, and is currently a member of NCRA and
Ethics First. She has "CART’d" live college classes
ranging from British Literature to Linear Algebra and Differential
for high schools, colleges, and governmental agencies; and
projected CART for lectures, both on-site and remotely.
